This is a 24-month campaign launched in June 2015, which will highlight the “loss of life” disparity between states that do and do not have licensing of handgun purchasers and ask congregations, organizations and businesses to sign a resolution calling for mandatory licensing across the country.
On this campaign, I:Recruited major partners to co-launch of the campaign. Created a national day of action, which coincided with the national campaign launch, and have enlisted more than 50 national faith organizations and nearly 28 state gun violence prevention organizations to participate. Developed the campaign branding, microsite, social media graphics, and downloadable signs for congregations and businesses to help spread the word. Coordinated and wrote all content and press material for national press conference that involved key national faith and gun violence prevention leaders. Worked with a member of Congress to hone the message and co-launch the campaign with the announcement of new federal legislation. Executed all educational communication pieces, including email communications, tweets and social media posts.
